ISO certification shows an organisation’s commitment to meeting its objectives, and increases credibility and confidence in the products and services it offers.

The certification of management systems has become a requirement increasingly demanded by companies as an integral element of their policies and daily business as well as a factor of competitiveness and the possibility of development. Moreover, it has proven its effectiveness as a method of providing additional customer confidence, facilitating internal management and stimulating continuous improvement processes.

ISO standards unify the necessary elements of each organisation to increase its efficiency, improve its products and services, and reduce costs. The certification of an ISO standard gives value to the company that accredits it, both from an external valuation point of view, as well as from the point of view of improvement and internal control.

The main ISO certificates

There are different ISO certificates, generic ISOs that are applicable to any type of company and organisation, regardless of its business sector, and specific ISO standards for certain industrial sectors (agriculture, food, chemicals, hospitality, etc.)

The main generic ISO standards to which any company or organisation can be certified are:

ISO 9001. Quality management system, related to the management and control of processes and their evaluation. Companies are interested in obtaining this certification to guarantee their customers the improvement of their products or services.

ISO 14001. Environmental management system certification focuses on managing and reducing the impact on the environment of the processes carried out in the company or organisation and demonstrating that they are responsible and committed to protecting the environment.

ISO 45001. General standard for occupational health and safety management systems related to compliance with Occupational Risk Prevention regulations. This certification is an ideal tool for all those organisations that want to improve their risk management and helps them to be more effective and efficient, reducing accidents and illnesses, and reducing emergency situations and sick leave.

ISO 50001. This is an environmental management system that proposes a systematised methodology for the management of energy efficiency projects within each company or organisation. With the implementation of this standard, any company will be able to adopt processes to understand its basic energy consumption and thus carry out energy efficiency actions, plans and objectives, achieving a reduction in consumption.

ISO 27001. This standard establishes the implementation of an information management system, which will allow an adequate management of information security (data, documents, etc.), as well as measures aimed at protecting the information against any threat and guaranteeing the continuity of the company’s activities at all times.
